Focus on educating the whole person Developmentally Appropriate learning materials Accurate Skill Measurement

Materials that address a child's innate curiosity

Our assessment materials provide a strong bridge between classroom performance and the achievement of measurable progress in knowledge and ability. Students and educators can rely on the content of our standards-based materials to help build critical reading, vocabulary, and writing skills. Students of English As A Second Language benefit from clearly structured reading materials that allow for cognitively accurate language acquisition. The linguistic, ethnic, cultural, and economic realities of our society are appropriately presented through bias-free language, in visually appealing formats.

ITEM WRITING AND EDITING
We write original test items for ELA content and Reading Comprehension. The quality of our testing materials reflects our deep understanding of instructional practice and technical aspects of assessment. All items are based on state standards and/or district standards and curriculum. We offer two venues for the creation of new items:

  1. Non-customized items and corresponding stems, prompts and passages based on a combination of NCTE standards and state-specific standards and benchmarks.
  2. Customized items and corresponding stems, prompts, and passages based on state-specific, and/or district-specific standards and benchmarks. Items are customized according to content and style specifications determined by the needs of our clients.

READING PASSAGE DEVELOPMENT

We write passages with a uniquely creative flare, accuracy of information and superior content validity. The content and structure of our passages allows for in-depth, on target assessment of skills. Grade and developmentally appropriate content provides educators with meaningful contexts for accurately assessing student knowledge and ability.

Our original passages include, but are not limited to, the following genres:

  1. Fiction
    1. Poems
    2. Narratives
    3. Short Stories
    4. Historical Fiction
  2. Nonfiction

    2. History
    3. Geography
    4. Science
    5. Art
